What should I bring for a fly fishing trip?
We recommend wearing comfortable outdoor apparel, including a waterproof rain jacket and warm base layers (socks and thermal underwear), as Slovenian freshwaters remain cold even during the summer. Please also bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. While we provide all essential fishing tackle and can arrange rental gear, you are welcome to bring any personal equipment you prefer.
Do I need a fishing permit?
Yes, a fishing permit is required. We are happy to assist you in obtaining all necessary permits for your trip. Please let us know in advance so we can ensure everything is seamlessly prepared for your adventure.

Is fishing equipment rental available?

What are the regulations regarding flies and hooks?
To protect our pristine ecosystem and fish health, and in full compliance with national fishing regulations, we strictly use barbless hooks and a single fly policy. We will be happy to provide you with the most effective local patterns, ensuring your gear meets all legal requirements for the specific river and hatch of the day.
Is Catch & Release mandatory?
Yes. We firmly believe in the conservation of our unique aquatic heritage. All our guiding sessions are 100% Catch & Release to ensure that these magnificent fish continue to thrive for years to come.
When is the best time to visit for a fishing trip?
The general fishing season in Slovenia runs from March to November, although opening and closing dates vary depending on the individual river and local regulations. For large trout, the spring months starting from March and April are excellent, while June and September offer the best insect hatches for dry fly enthusiasts. October is widely considered the golden month for trophy Grayling. Additionally, the winter season for Hucho Hucho or Danube Salmon runs from November to mid-February. Whatever your target, we will guide you to the best waters available during your stay.
